Meet the Team

Our Tutors

Tutors work under the direction of the class teacher and assist the teacher with the running of the school day. They work 1:1 with the children on a daily basis running the children’s Individual Education Plans. Tutors at Jonix are all fully qualified and receive in-house training. Qualifications include: Primary Level Qualified Teachers, Montessori Teachers, Psychology Graduates, Early Childhood Studies, Social Care amongst many. All Tutors are registered with the Teaching Council and have a Teacher Number.

 

Our Teachers

There is one Class Teacher in each class. Teachers oversee the daily running of the class and are the parent’s first point of contact. The teachers implement and develop the children’s Individual Education Plans and work 1:1 with the children on a daily basis. Teachers at Jonix are all fully qualified and receive in-house training at Jonix. Qualifications include: Primary Level Qualified Teachers, Montessori Teachers, Psychology Graduates, Early Childhood Studies, Social Care amongst many. All teachers are registered with the Teaching Council and have a Teacher Number. The children’s Individual Education Plans are monitored by the management team and suggestions are given in relation to the children, classroom and daily running of the school.

Our trainers

There are trainers working across the Jonix schools. Our trainers help support new members of staff when they join the team and implement our in-house training. All our trainers are third level qualified and are registered with the teaching council of Ireland.

Sinéad Lynch

Sinéad has been working in Jonix since 2018. Sinéad has a degree in Psychology and a masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Sinéad is Lead Behaviour Support Specialist for the Northside Region. Sinéad will support parents and teachers in relation to any behaviours of concern that arise throughout the school year. She will develop Behaviour Support Plans to increase children’s appropriate behaviour and decrease any behaviours of concern.

Eimear Scully

Eimear Scully has worked in Jonix since January 2022. Eimear has many years of experience working with children with autism. Eimear has a masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis as well as being a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. Eimear will support parents and teachers in relation to any behaviours of concern that arise throughout the school year. She will develop Behaviour Support Plans to increase children’s appropriate behaviour and decrease any behaviours of concern.

Joanne Carroll

Joanne has been working in Jonix since 2008. Joanne has many years of experience working with children with Additional Needs and has a Degree in Education and Training. Joanne is responsible for staff recruitment, training and general school management of the schools in the Northside Region.

Ailbhe O’Leary

Ailbhe has worked in Jonix since November 2013. Ailbhe has a vast amount of experience working with neurodiverse children. Ailbhe holds an Arts degree in Social Science. She is responsible for staff recruitment, training and general school management of the schools in the Southside Region.

Shannon Whelan

Shannon has been working in Jonix since 2017. She has many years of experience working with children with Additional Needs and has a strong academic background; she holds a degree in Arts, a Level 5 in Nursing Studies, and is currently working towards completing her masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis along with Advanced Montessori at Level 6. In conjunction with the rest of the management team Shannon is responsible for ensuring the children’s physical and emotional needs are met, modelling inclusive practice, facilitating the children’s interests and play, and enhancing programming in line with Early Years.
