This is a nice practical activity for the kiddies to do to work on their shapes and generalise the skill to be able to identify the shape of items in everyday life.
For this activity the kiddies will go around the house with one of the shape cutouts and find items that are the same shape. They can use their shape cut out to help them to identify what shape the item is. See photos below with some examples.
You can go out to the garden to find different shapes. The shape cut outs are ideal to bring on a walk with the kiddies too so that they can search for shapes as they walk.
You will need:
Laminating paper and laminater if you have one.
How to make:
Cut out the shape with a handle at the bottom of the shape.
Write the name of the shape on the bottom of the shape.
Laminate if possible.
Happy shape searching!
