Creation Station
Area: arts and craft, independence
Designate an area in your house for a creation station.
All you need is a table and a chair. Make this area all for the kids. This area will be where the child can go over and independently make their own creation.
It may be an idea to leave this station set up all of the time so the child can go to and from during the day.
This is great to encourage independent and creative skills while also being an activity where you do not have to do it with your child so you get a chance to do something else while your child is having fun.
To start you will have to introduce your child to the creation station and show they what they do at the creation station. Make it lots of fun and make a creation with them the first time.
When you want to see if the child would like to create something at the creation station bring them over to it and show them what they can do.
With time and if your child is interested in arts and craft they will start to go to the creation station themselves and start creating something wonderful to show you.
One theme that you could have set up in the creation is building a bug:
