Sensory Path- Going on a Bear Hunt

    in Helping each other out

    Going on a Bear Hunt

    Area: sensory, play

    What you will need:

Grass, mud, water, forest, snow, cave, bear, figure people and the 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' book.

Here are some ideas of items you could use:

Grass- real, artificial, green paper cut up, green string or crep paper

Water- real, add in blue crep paper to make the water blue

Mud- real mud, playdoh, chocolate yogurt, chocolate mouse or choclate icecream

    Forest- leaves, sticks

Snow- fake snow, crushed ice or cotton wool

Cave- something that the figures can walk through, bridge from train set, build a cave out of blocks lego, cover with crep paper or material to give it a cave look.

Bear- find a bear in your child toy box or use a teddy bear

    How to play:

Line the items up in the same order as seen in the picture below as this is how the story goes. Hide the bear at the end for the surprise.

Grass, water, mud, forest, snow, cave, bear.

They can be in containers or freely on the ground.

Read the story as the kiddies bring their figure people along the trail then allow the kiddies to go through the trail themselves freely and have some sensory play fun.

If you dont have the book you can use the script below

    Happy Bear Hunting!
